No, HDR Beyond the Basics is a collections of instructional tutorials created to help photographers post-process HDR images and keep them organized. You need to already have Lightroom, Photoshop or Photomatix Pro and/or any other plugin installed in your computer. If you still need Photomatix Pro and want to save 15%, get it here.

A Mac or a PC, Adobe Reader or Acrobat 7 and higher, Quicktime Video Player.

If you are on a Mac and double-click the file the first time to open it, your Mac will open it in Preview (Mac’s default application to view PDFs and pictures). If this happens, you’ll be able to view the pages but not play the movies. Instead, please right-click or Control-click the PDF file, then choose Open with Adobe Reader or Adobe Acrobat and the movies will play.

After paying for the tutorials, you are automatically directed to your invoice page where you can download the movies.  You are also sent an email from underwaterlightroom.com during the payment process, which contains the same download link. If you have not received an email, please check your Spam folder as the email may have been flagged as spam by accident.

Please be patient. The zip file containing the tutorials is almost 1 GB and can take a long time to download, especially if you have a slow connection speed. On a Mac, you can check the download progress of the file in the download manager.  On a PC, you can look for the status indicator of Internet Explorer to see the download progress.

Don’t disturb the download unless you receive an error message.  Depending on your connection speed, a download could take as long as an hour or more! This is a very large file but it’s still a lot faster than waiting for the mail.  Also, if you’re having trouble on a PC downloading via Internet Explorer, I would suggest trying Firefox, as it is more reliable for downloads. You can get the Firefox browser here.

You want to first save the file and then open it later. If you choose to open the file instead, and a download error occurs, you will be unable to launch the movies.

The videos embedded in the PDF file are 960×600 sharp, while the ones in the iBook version are 1440×900 sharp.
